Something op a Wreck.. The Phil-
Ipcburg Journal says : Oa Wednesday forenoon,
about nine o'clock, aa David Kincaid's train of
empty freight ears was approaeking town, with
tbe engine reversed, it struck a cow and in lets
than tea seconds at many freight ears were piled
np in a promiscuous mast of trucks and fiats.
The cow was one of three belonging to Robert
Hudson who was himself driving them along the
township road, or what ought lo be a township"
load, when he met the train. Two of them were
driven out of danger, but the third one crossed
the track and was hidden from tht tight or the
engineer by the mill and lumber, which also pre
vented the anltnal from getting any distanoeaway
from Ibe track oa that side. Frightened by the
approach ef the train, and hemmed in by the
lumber piles, the cow jempod upon the track just
in Trout of Ibe lender, without having been seen
nt all by the engineer, and the Under and loco-
motivt passed safely over her, but tbe rear trucks

ber a few rods when they separated from the body

The brakemen, tome of whom were on tbe wreck
ed care, made their escape by Jumping from the
train. Tbs construction train was sent for and

which was not accomplished until about two
o'clooh, when the passenger train, which had been
delayed from eleven a. m., passed the spot. Tbe

passenger! for thit place were obliged to finish
their journey on foot or wait several hoars. Mr.

the authorities of which be had previously noti
