His trust waa la Jesus. Tbe religion he professed
Intnenoed him in all the walks and relations of

worth of character. The Savior la whom he
trusted during life, was the foundation nf tbe
Heavenly hopes that supported him In death, In
an eminent degree, his end was peace.

PirrtSDSO Fsaaia Collbob. We cannot too
highly recommend the Institute. Those of oar
friends and neighbors who are determined to send
their children abroad to educate them caa do no
bettor than head them ever to Dr. Pershing. Th
Vmiltt Vosoyfertaa of the 1st seys ! We have be
fore us the catalogue of the officers and pupils of
this College. It has as Its frontispiece an sngrav
Ing of the elegant buildings, snggestlvs of oommo-
diousnees, comfort and the amplest facilities for
ths accommodation and training of a large number
of pupils. And then we know the reality to be
all that Is represented, that the interior is arrang
ed and fitted Bp la a style corresponding with all
that Is expressed In tbe beautiful exterior.
Its course of study embrace all tbe branches of
solid and ornamental education. It has eight
dlstinot departments, and a teacher for each onef
and special teachers for all the ornamental braaeh
ea mcsie (vocal and Instrnmsntal), drawing aad
painting, wax aad shell work, needle work, Ac,
employing altogether twenty.tbree teachers.
At tbc head of the Faculty is our friend and
brother, Dr. I. O. Pershing, the very perionifloa
tion of earnestness and energy. The remarkable
snoeeas of the College attests his lingular fitness
for the work to which he Is called here. Under
his careful but gonial rule the discipline of the
College moves almost without a Jar, and ' the
moral tone is kept up without any serious difll
eulty. The terms, we believe, are as low as la any aim
liar College of equal advantages, while the educa
tion Is as thorough and the entire culture as per.
feet The only Improvement we ean think of is
in what it might be as a United Presbyterian In
stead of a Methodist College. But If we cannot
claim it, we must give It credit for its exeellence
and high claims. Address Dr. I. C. rsrshicg,
