Mr. A. E. Burr, of Connecticut,
Chairman ot tho Committee on lieso
lutiun?, announced that the Commitloo
wero ready to rt port, and asked tho
Clerk to read in tho first place the in
troductory paragraph of tlio roport.
Mr. Burr explained that tho resolu
tions wero tbe Cincinnati platform
exactly, nothing added, nothing ex
cluded. This platform was adopted
in Cincinnati by all tho Stutcs except
.Delaware. AliHttiseiimi. Guonrin unH
Oregon. Ilo moved tho adoption of
tue report, ana moved tho previous
question.
"Mr. Bayard, of Dolawaro, inquired
whother tho previous question, which
was another name for the gag law,
had become the law of the Democratic
Convention without notice to the del
egates? The Chair said that this Convention
" had adopted tho rules of tho Houho of
Koprcsenlulives, so tho motion of Burr
was in order, and not open to debate.

The Bjcrelary, Mr. Torrin, began
to read tho preamble, but bis voico
was drowned in duufuning npplauso.
At tho request of a delcgalo the en
tire platform was then read by Mr.
Terrin, the enunciation of each prin
ciple bringing forth great applauso,
particularly tho part" relating to tho
. removal of disabilities, tho one term
' for President and tho romission of tho
adjustment of tho tariff to the differ
ent congressional districts. On the
conclusion delegates rosoand cheerod,
but the president rapped to ordor, and
Mr. a urr said the resolutions wero
voted for by every Slate except Geor
gia, Mississippi, Alabama and Dela
ware. Ilo moved Us adoption, and
asked for tho previous question.
As various states voted in tbe affir
mative, the announcement was receiv
ed with appluuso, particularly when
Maryland cust her six rotes on that
ido, and Now York her soventy, Vir
ginia hor twenty-two and South Caro
lina her sixteon, whon the final voto
was announced, the applauso broke
forth unrestrained, and continued for
come minutes.

upon the adoption of tho resolutions

Mr. Ray, of Indiana, then moved to
proceed to tho nomination of candi
dates for froeidunt and Vice .'resi
dent, the vote to be taken by states.
Adopted.
Hon. S. 8; Cox offered a resolution
that tho chairman of each delegation
shall announco tho voto of his slate,
and his announcement ahull bo taken
without question. Adopted.

Tho roll of tho States was then cul
led, and Alabama lod off with twenty
votes for lloruco Groeloy, of New
York, whon tho whole convention roso
on masse and cheered.
Cboor after cheor rent tho air: hands
wero thrown up; Arkansas, California
and Connecticut followed with iinani
mous votes, allot which wore rccoived
with chcors.
Whon Delaware was reached horsix
votes wero east for lion. James A.
Bayard, of that Sluto, futhor of Sena
tor Bnyard.
Georgia cast four votes blank and
eighteen for Horaco Gooley.
Stuto after Sluto then followed in
unanimous votos for Horace Greeley,
the announcement of each being re
ceived with cheers. When Maryland
cast her sixteen votos for Greeley, tho
cheering was most enthusiastic
