the Lock Haven Dtmocmt of the IKtb; The river
is lively and yet iu ratting cwndilion. Our float
ing population has mcred in and located them
selves on tho river from this point to a couple of
miles above Queen's Run dam. A very stiff brceio
quite a gale for Ibis point sot In on Friday and
kept up tilt Hunday night, making It nnsnfc to run
below the dam. This had tbe eftcct of keeping a
very large number of rafts above Queen's Run
dam till tbe wind calmed down. Combined with
the Jam occasioned by so many rafts la the harbor,
the rafts have been dotaioed an unoeully lung
time at this poiut. A largo number of raftsmen
have been In and about town, but very good order
has been maintained. No accidents bare occurred
in the river, eo far as we could learn. Timber baa
been selling at very good prions, with a pretty stiff
demand far Itj consequently a good deal has
changed hands. Hemlock has been selling at from
10 to 12 cental Placet from 14 to 20 j Oak at from
20 to 2. Raid Cagle bom la full, bat a bronk in
one of the dam on the creek prevented aa full a
supply of logs aa was Intended to be put In. At

Sfaeehan, of Mehoopany, died on the 90th of
March last, aged 107 years. Mrs. Shrcbon did
on her birthday ; and what was very singular she
