CHILDHOOD,
t oeunoi D. rnnjTifi.
'Tit lad yet sweet to listen
To the loft wlu'l'l genlla swell,
' Anil think w. hear the muiia
Our ohildhood loved 10 well
To gue out on the even, a
And the boundless fields of air,
And felt ngaln our boyhood 's wild.
To ruani like angels there.
There are man; drenma of gludnoil
That ellng around the pact,
' And from the tomb of feeling,
Old thoughts come thronging fast j
The forme wo lured 10 dearly,
In the happy da) s now gone,
The beautiful and lovely,
Ho fair to look upon.
Thnie bright ami gentle nrnidcni,
Who seemed su formed for bliss,
Too glorioue and too heavenly
For euch a world ai thii 1
Wbosa dark, eufl eyce socuiod ittiwinlng
In a tea of liquid light j
And whose looke uf gold were streaming
O'er brows so lunuy bright,
, Like the brightest huds of summer,
Thoy bare fullen from tho eteui,
Tot, oh ! it ie a lovoly dream,
To fade from earth like them.
i
' And yet the thought li laddonlng ,
To mule on luch ai they,
Aad feel that all tho beautiful
Are peeling iwil't away 1
That the fair onee whom we Ioyq
'irow to each loving breast,
Like leadrlle of the elinging vino,
And perish wlfere they rest. '

to 1000 laden con I cars, which, holding
four tons each, would reach two miles
and a half.
JJirectly over your head is a figure
in bionic, "America," weighing 14,082

dome upon its piers and pillars is 13,
