formed that Mr. Amns Raymond, of Raymond,
Potter eounty, met with a queer accident ft few
days ago. It appear, that be was at work on the
upper floor of his barn when be lost hi. footing
and fell through to tlie floor below, atriking fairon
his feet ; a. bo struok the floor hi. head wa. thrown
forward against hi. arms which wore extended
upwards with such forea as to break both arms

This is a mistake. The fault lies more with the
farmer than the climate orsoll. ' And we have also
frequently heard It remarked that Bogg. townabip
contained the poorest land In tho eounty, and yet,
our esteemed demooratia friend, Jacob Dimllog,
w learn, harvested and threshed six acres of
wheat this season which averaged twvnty-flre
bushels to the acre, and that too in the poorest oor
ner or Buggs township. More work, and that at
the proper time, and lest growling, will produce

Friday last, by hanging himself. When found he

limb and bis nock and tbea swung off. He was
tbo father of the man who hung himself fcs our

age. Aa Inquisition waa held by Esquire Bloppy,
and a verdict rendorod that the deceased eame lo
his death by bis own hands.

Politically we seem to be favored this fall, bi hav
ing two Candidates Mr. Coulriet, the Democratic
nominee for Commissioner, and Esquire Mcllar-

are aware, no doubt, that both reside in this town
ship. Karthaus will show an increase in the Dem
ocratic vote this fall, because Mr. Coutrietds a
good man, and will sec that all our party friends

Singular Circumstance. Conduc
tor Hyniao, who reoently lost his life In a eollisioa
on the Philadelphia ftnd Erie Railroad, ft few
night, before the accident, awakened some of the
family at tbe Central Hotel, Williamsport, where

in the morning that he had a terrible dream in
