Warren, in HohIoii harbor, whence
Ihey were liberated on tho peronipto

and sailed for Englund in January,
Iftlia. Wilkes, who was greatly lund
id at firm fur the act, both by Con
L'rvKH and the Cabinet, waa soon after
ward summoned before a court mar
tial com posed of naval officers, and
oy them adjudged guilty ot gross oi
fenses and sentenced to auipcnsion
fur three 3-eurs. Mr. Mason remained
abroad for some year after the ter
mination of hostilities, and on his re
turn to Virginia took up hia rcnidonce,
as already Muted, near Alexandria.

died of general debility, his nervous
system being generally deranged IIo

Senator Osborn was uleo a holder of
2,500 shares of stock, worth at par

Indignation is expressed in various
quarter) at these revelation. Wcaro

withstanding the fact that President
Grunt has bestowed the highest offices

ents, and has retained in a most con
spicuous place in the Slate Pepnrt
