fcTllia Bi:sT THAT I CAN.
"I cannot do much," sufd a little iter,
To Dink tb dark world bright;
IHy silver beauis cannot struggle far
Through the fold in jfluuia of nlghtl
But I tin a part of lods great plan,
And I'll cheerfully do tlio beat I can."
" What li the Hie," laid a fleeaj cloud,
" Of these dew-drops that 1 bold ? ,
They will hardlr bend tlie lilljr proud,
Though caught io her cup of gold.
Yet I aio a part of dud's grt-at plan j
My treasure! I'll gire a well aa I oan.-
A child went merrily forth to play,
But a thnnbt, like silver-tread.
Kept winding in and out all day
Through the happy busy bead.
" My mother tald, ' Darling do all yon can,
Fur yon are a part of Uud'i great plan.' "
So she helped a youngor child atong,
Whiu tbe ivad wea rough to the loot ;
And she sang for her a little long,
A song that was panning sweet ;
And her father, a weary toil-worn man,
Said, 44 1 will alio do tbe bat I can."
