I'eur yoanf eentleinrn, Messrs. Lee, Adams, flef
erty and Fielding, who desire to eultiiafe their
muscles and enjoy the pleasures of rureliilng for
ft season, started for Bedford Springe on foot.
Tbey promised their friend? telegraph their
arrival at Altuone, but no telegram yet. Whether
they bare been lust on the mountain, or dodged in
the oari at Tipton, we have not learned. Ws
are Inolinrd to the belief that about two days
will take the starch out of the young men, and that
they will adopt the "old fogy" method of riding
to the Springe.
The Altoona Sun of Friday last thus refers to
lbs pleasure seekers i
''Yesterday afternoon, while busily engaged In
our daily duties, our sanctum waa invaded by
lour individuals uf mort loilorn and dilapidated
aspect. They were tiavel-worn and dust-covered,
lame and bait, out at the heels and out at the
toes, costless and alu-oat hallcsa. When they
divested themselves of the dust that bouloulcil
their countenance, we recognised thent as t'lcar
llelders A. VV. Lee, Frank Fielding. Alouso
Adams and Ueorge Hagcrly two lawyers, a
eounty officer, and a printer. Tbcy left Clearfield
on Wednesday morning, and were thus far on
their way to itedlurd springs. After resting and
enjoying themselves at tho l.ogan Jlouse, and
providing llu nm-lvcs with new shoes, Ac, they
resumed their journey, and expect to reach their
destination to-morrow morning."
Livan. A telegram informs us that the party
arrived in Bedford on Saturday, footing it the
whole way, 95 miles. Their heels, toes aud hats
in ft worse oondition than at Altoona. We hope
the orphont will ftll be returned to their disconso
late sweethearts.
