We publish elsewhere this week

By reference to our advertisements
it will be seen that one of our citizens

The School Director of Lawrence
will receive proposals for tho building
of three new School Houses.
Camp Mekiinu. It will bo noticed
by the programme elsewhere, that
tho Wont Brunch ramptncctiiig will
'commence on the lGth of August.
Our exchanges arc pretty generally
making mention of tho i.ict that the

unusually full of blossoms this enstin,
indicating a large and bountiful corn
crop.

Court. Last week was probably
tbe busiest Court week ever experi
enced in this county. His Honor,
Judge Mayer and his associates were
on the bench at 10 o'clock on Monday,
and kept tho "machine" moving until
Saturday at 5 o'clock, during which
n'me a large amount of businoss was
done. Tho business this week from
present appearance w ill not amount
to much, for various reasons over
which tho Court has no control.
Recklessness. Some of the boys
, frequenting tho I'uilroad depot on the
' arrival and departure of trains at this
plnco, manifest a recklessness that will
ultimately result in their injury or
death. They persist in jumping on
tho curs while in motion, though
repeatedly warned by those of mature
growth, and in tho face of tho many
accidents occurring from similar con
duct. If theso reckless boys were
treated to a good lumpooning when
thus caught exposing themselves to
danger, we ore pretty suro that it
would be productive of somo good.
a a
Conjugal Ati ection. ThoPhilips
burg Journal says that a fifteenth
amendment, living on Second street,
.- amused himself on Friday morning,
by kicking his wife out of doors, for
which be was speedily introduced to
our Burgess, and find in tho sum of
$150. It will indeed be well for tho
1! urges, in question, if the "govern
ment" at Washington does not get
to hear of this burburious treatment
of a "mn nnd brother." It is as
bad as Ku K lux ism, and then lure,
Ii an abridgement of tho freedom of
i the "colored brother."
