Sad Accident. Mrs. Mctjuaid, wife
of Jas. McQuuid. limo merchant, resi
ding at Ironsvillo, met with a aad
accident on Tueaday of this week,

death. It appears that she had been
in town, (Tyrono,) and was returning
homo by wuy of the Pcnn'a. railroad,
and was on tho Eastern track, a short
distance below the depot, when she
heard tho Southern Express train
coming down tho track behind her.
On stepping out of tho way of it to
tho Western track sho discovered a
freight train coming up in front of her,
on it, wlien sho immediately passed
from It to a siding, where she supposed
of course she was safe; but a shifter
was backing in on the siding, winch,
amid the noise of the other trains, was
unnoticed by her, as well as the
screams of brukenicti who seen her
danger, but was unablo to reach hor
on account of tho speed of the train.
