We call the attention of lumbermen

Os Hand. Ilorse thieves are be
eoming active again. Tho past long
winter has operated very much to
their disadvantage ; but having been
thawed out, they aro plying their call
ing rigorously. We notice by our
exchanges that horses are being sto
len every where, and our county will
no doubt be visited in time. So look
out for them.

parties have lung at Unowlfitoil tlm

Colburn amjilo reward for his enter

tho corner of Third and Hoed streets,
directly opposite tho railroad depot.
Tho material will bo brick, Ihreo sto
ries high, with two fronts, respective-
ly sixty-five and eighty loot, and
when completed, will be an honor to
tho town, a monument to its founder
and a blessing to its patrons.
Judge Shaw has also contracted for
putting an additional story on tho
Mansion House, kept by Mr. Johnson.
Tho building wo understand is to bo
entirely rcmoddled, improvod and
raised to thrco stories, so as to adapt
it to tho purposo for which it was in
tended, tho comfort and convenience
of its guests.
Excepting in a financial point of
view, the season has optned splondidly
in tho liae of improvement. Quite
number of dwelling nous's are in
course of erection, while others are
rapidly being enlarged and otherwise
improved.
Tho Railroad Company promise to
lay the track from Thilipsburg to this
placo in sixty days from the time they
commence ; but when that will be, do
ono can conjecture.
