residing near Glen Hope, had his leg
broken at Sandy in trying to land

Drownkd. On Saturday evening j
la-t, while some little girls were play
ing on a raft landed in tho river in
front of the dwelling of Judge Foley,
his littlo daughter, Alice, aged about
13 years, while watching tho passing
dnltwood, fell into the water and was
drowned. Every effort was ntado to
save her but up to Wednesday even
ing, sho had not been recovered. This
is a sad aflliction on the Judge and his
interesting family, and the recovery
of tho body of their :hild and sister
would go far to palliato their grief.

neighbors in this sad hour.
