' FOR GOVERNOR Chester clymer, OF BERK COUXTY. Bcy It. Everybody should buy the great speech of Hon. Jeremiah H. Black, delivered beforo tho Supreme Court of the United States, upon tho illegality and unconstitutionality of Military Commissions for the trial of civilians. This speech, according to tho decision of tho Court, is a com mcntary, or a rehearsal of the princi ples of tho Constitution of our coun try, and should bo read and studied bv all men. It has been published in pamphlet form, by Messrs. T. B. Pe terson A Bros., Philadelphia, nud re tails at ten cents, or, seventy-five cents a dozen. Wo presume one dol lar mailed to Messrs. Petersons will bring, by return mail, one dozen cop ies ; and whoever docs it, will never spend a dollar in a better cause. This tract is far ahead of anything pub liBhed by any tract society, and should bo found in every household. More Exposures. In our issue of the 23d of May, we published a ctatemcnt to tho effect that Secretary Stanton had paid a certain James B. Merritt.six thousand dollars, as a witness before the Mili Commission, in order to convict Mrs. Surratt, and her associates, and more recently, this samo witness was before the Judiciary Committee of Congress, for tho purnoso of establishing the complicity of McEers. Davis, Clay . and others in tho as.sasi nation plot. As an additional episode in this damnablo crime of bribery and per jury, we take from the New York Hirald's Washington correspondent tho following statcmeut A New Yorker of the name of Camp boll has just given to tho world some queer revelations concerning the tes timony lately adduced by the judici ary committee of tho Houso tending to implicate Jeff. Davis in tho assas sination plot. Ho shows that a gross system ol frauds and perjury has been resorted to to prove Davis and others conspirators in tho matter, and backs up his assertions by facts that startle all who arc familiar with the testimo ny. It seems that many of tho wit nesses testified under assumed names, and that no such persons as the ostcn sible and recorded witness exist. In addition to this, ho states that the party who w as a principal w itness or detcctivo in tho caso was asked to procoed to New York and procure eomo corroborating evidence of his own statements, which he had previ ously volunteered to furnish; that he cavo the officer who was sent with him tho sl;p in New York : has ac tually run away, as is supposed, to avoid n prosecution lor perjury, and lias uot been heard from by tho officer or committee lor several weeks. Oilier witnesses have come forw ard and con fessed to having sworn falsely. Another Veto. The President has vetoed that enormous sw indie, passed by Congress, entitled the "New York k Montana Iron Mining and Manufac turingCompanv-." This bill conferred special privileges upon an irresponsi ble corporation, such as no individual would ever become scoundrel enough to ask. The bill grants this company thousands of acres of land in this Territory lor manufacturing purposes, but ostensibly for speculation. The greatest outrago of all, is, that Con gress, in this instanco, has attempted to usurp the authority of tho State, or, Territorial Legislature, and but for tho President's interference would set itself up as tho Legislature of that Territory. Elected. Hon. James W. Patter son, (Disunionist,) has been elected United States Senator by the New Hampshiro Legislature, for six years from the fourth of March next. Mr. Tattcrson is one of the present Rump. Ho takes tho place of Daniel Clark, One of tho present Senators, who Iibr all bis blood relations billeted upou the State and National governments, . . v-t .1 r . ii nn-A 1 . . .. i Hesolved, liv me ocnaio anu this time Austria lias probably soun ed the tocsin of war along .of Prussia and Italy Sthat 850.000 Austrian 1 .1.- D.n.mjll linfiloi Hll nwcmng w u. x of tU UllUej 2JU,CW to ltaiy. ivoui mco l uc 11lifieJ by thre0 iiavo enormous armies in the Held and tho merciless conscription is put in force at every point.
