A IToucmxo ilK.MortrAi.. There is '
nothing so distasteful to a Bensative
heart as the affectation of grief so
often discovered in the cemeteries of
the dead. It is often displayed in tlw
fseulptured monuments of the wealthy, '
and not unfretiuentlv in the inscrip
tions on t:ie tombs of rich and poor. ieiiob
AN e recently, however, ohservea an
incident which Fiemed free from this
charge. In a retired corner of a pub
lic burying place wo noticed an hum
ble gra've, evidently of a poor person,
with nothing but a painted headboard,
with an inscription to "Our Little
Charlie;" and on the breast of the
email graven child's jilay-lable, on
which was placed a small china toy,
which had been mutilated by the los.-
of the head, and which had belonged
to the little deceased. Wo could not
resist the impression that it had been
the suggestion of a child-sister of I he
dead one, and was a genuine, expres
sion of true affection and heartfelt sorrow.
