Are stii red .it heart by the cor-lug
Of the day their leaves must fall.
Do they think of the the yellow whirlwind.
Or know of the crhnson spray
That shall be when ohiil November
Bears all their leaves awayt
Perhaps—beside the water
■Vflie willow bends, serene

In a mist of golden green.
But the brave old oak is flushing
To a wine-red, dark and deep,
And maple and elm are blushing
The blush of a child asleep.
"If die we mi s,' the leaflets
Seem one by one to say,
"We will wear the colors of gladness
Until we pass away.
No eyes shall see us falter;
And before we lav it down.
We'll wear, in the sight of all the earth.
The year's most kingly crown."
So, trees of the stately forest,
And trees by the trodden way,
Yuu are kindling into glory
This soft autumnal day.
And we who gaze remember
That more than all they lost,
To hearts and trees together
May come through the ripening frost.

litfJit VIGOR,
I A dressing which is at once agreeable, healthy,
| aud effectual for preserving the hair. It soon re
: stores faded or gray hair to its onglual color, with
j re gloss and freshness of youth. Thin hair is
thickened, fallen hair checked, and baldness often
though not always eared iy its use. Nothing can
restore the hair where the follicles are destroyed
or the glands atrophied and decayed: but snc'n as ]
j rdmain can be saved by this application, and
stimulated into activity, so that a new growth of
■ hair is produced. Instead of fouling the tiair with
a pasty sediment, it will keep it clean and vigor
i oits. its occasional use will prevent the hair from
turning grey or falling off. and consequently pre
i vent baldness. The restoration of vitality it
; giv ts to the scalp arrest.- and prevents the forma
tion of dandruff, which Is often so uncleanly and
; offensive. Free from those deleterious substan
ces which make some preparations dangerous
and injurious to the hair, the A igor can nuly ben

HAIR, DRESHINO, nothing else can bo found so
desirable. Containing neither oil nor dye, it does
not soil white cambric, aud yet lasts long on the
! hair, giving it a rich, glossy lustre, aud a grateful

VEGETABLE SICILIAN
Hair Renewer.
| Every year Increases the popularity of this val
; uable Hair Preparation; which is due to merit
i alone. We can assure our old patrons that it is
j kept fully up to Its high standard; and It is the
; only reliable and perfected preparation for restor
ing DRAY or FADED HAIR to its youthful color,
I making it soft, lustrous and silken. The scalp, by
its use, becomes white and clean. It removes alf
eruptions and dandruff, and, by its tonic proper
ties. prevents the hair from falling out, as it stim
ulates and nourishes the hair-glands. By its use,
the hgir grows thicker and stronger. In baldness
j it restores the capillary glands to their normal
! vigor, and will create a new growth, except in ex- j
| treme old age. It is the most economical HAIR
DRESSING ever use<l, as it requires fewer appli- :
cations, and gives the hair a splendid, glossy ap- '
pearance. A. A. Hayes, M. I)., State Assayer of i
Massachusetts, says, "The constituents are pure,
and carefully selected for excellent quality; and

tended purposes."
