All About a Parasol Tassel.
A parasol tassel is a very small thing to
create a difficulty in a man's family; yet
insignificant as it is in itself, it did cause
much domestic trouble out iu the West
End last night. The husband, stubborn
and morose, was seated on the doorstep of
a planing mill, and the wife was standing
in front of him on the sidewalk emptying
imaginary vials of wrath upon his head
varied with female lamentations and
pleadings usual upon such occasions, all
of which he received with occasional sul
len remonstrance.
" Only two year married, already," said
the indignant wife,." and you running
arount mit der girls, pooty quick You
ought to be ashamed mit:mineself. Tint
here is der leedle barasol tassel vot I
found in your pocket. Yost sich a leedle
tassel vat Katrina Von Trump's barasol
don' hal got all 'e wile. Yot you got to
say 7"
Vot I got to say ?" returned the hus
band, in a tone of injured innocence.
" yet I tole you a'ready, vot I always tole
you, and vot I never tole you some more
vet I live, and a lways will ! I tole you I
found the leedle barasol tassel at the pose
pall ground ts, and that's more's what's the
madder."
The wife would not accept the explana
tion, but continued to accuse him of con
nubial derelictions, although the only evi
dence she seemed to have on hand was
the parasol tassel At length another
actor appeared on the scene. He proved
to be a neighbor of theirs ; and although
be came strolling along, as if on no pur
pose bent, it was apparent that he had
sought them with the view of effecting a
reconciliation and getting them home.
" Hallo, Hans ; vas this you ! said the
new cower, acting as though surprised at
finding him there; you are pooty late
out, ain't it? Why you no go home ?"
I don't go home any more; that's why
ain't out pooty quick late," replied Hans,
gloomily.
The neighbor inquired the reason of
their difficulty, which Hans was not slow
to give, exhibiting the suspicious tassel.
" What," said the neighbor in astonish
ment, " a leedle tassel like dose make all
these difficulties I Vy, I bicks up half
dose leedle tassels at the pase-pall grounds
effry tay rot I do' go town there. Got
tuzzents—tousands of 'em at home, I
guess not. Von leedle barasol tassel
Veil, you youst like to see my pureau
trawers full of dose tassels vot I dells you,.
unt my frau she likes um, unt says its
pully. Von leedle tassel makes all dis
troubles. Vell, if I hadn't Sul pelieved
it I never would haf seen it.,'
He" continued on in this, strain and fi
nally made out that every married man in
the neighborhood had bushels of " leedle
barasol tassels" which they picked up at
the base-ball grounds, conveying the idea
that the air fairly rained tassels whenever
there war a throng of ladies there to wit
ness a base-ball match.
The woman at length became moder
ately pacified and consented to go home,
forgetting and forgiving if Hans would,
and Hans after an amount of grumbling
and hesitation, which his injured feelings
seemed to demand, consented and they
went home : and the
,well meaning and
somewhat extravagant neighbor still
dwelling on the heap of parasol tassels he
had himself accumulated at the " pase
rail groundts."—Cincinnati Times.
Extracted Without Pain.
A certain lady in Bangor, a few days
since, }laving begun housekeeping in a
new house, sent her Irish maid•of -all work
up stairs, telling her to take out and clean
the windows. Biddy disappeared in the
upper regions, and all was quiet. In a
little while,, however, madam the house
keeper went-up "to see how the window
cleaning was progressing, and to her hor
ror found that the hlanderirg girl bad
minutely, followed her directions; for the
putty being soft, she had dug out, every
pane of glass, and, after washing them
carefully, had piled them up on the flour.
A SOUTHWESTERN paper thus epito
mizes lynch law: "Four Aentuckins, in
jail for murdering a neighbor, had a sur
prise party from a hundred or two citizens
the other night. They hadn't any last
words ready, and wouldn't have had time
to say them if the l y had. All leave fami
lies."

AD DRESS
To the Nervous and Debilitated.
Whose sufferings have been protracted iron
hidden causes, and whose cases require prompt
treatment to render existence desirable: Ifyou
are suffering, or have suffered, from involun
tary discharges, what effect does it produce upon
your general health ? Do you feel weak, debili
tated, easily tired? Does a little extra exertion
produce palpitation of the heart? Does your
liver, or urinary organs, or your kidneys, fre
quently get out of order? Is your urine some
times thick, milky or flocky, or is it ropy on
settling? Or does a thick scum rise to the top?
Or is a sediment at the bottom after It has stood
awhile? Do you have spells of short breathing
or dyspepsia? Are your bowels constipated?
Do you have spells of fainti ng, or rushes of blood
to the head? Is your memory impaired? Is
your mind constantly dwelling on this subject?
Do you feel dull, listless, moping, tired of com
pany, of life? Do you wish to be left alone, to
get away from everybody? Does any little thing
make you start or jump? Is your sleep broken
or restless? Is the lustre of your eye as bril
liant? The bloom on your cheek as bright? Do
you enjoy yourself in society as well? Do you
pursue your business with the same energy? Do
you have as much confidence In yoursell ? Are
your spirits dull and flagging, given to fits of
melancholy? If so, do not lay it to your liver
or dyspepsia. Have you restless nights? Your
back weak, your knees weak, and have but
little appetite, and you attribute this to dys
pepsia or liver-complaint ?
Now, reader, self-abuse, venereal diseases
badly cured, and sexual excesses, are all capa
ble of producing a weakness of the generative
organs. The organs of generation, when in
perfect health, make the man. Did you ever
think that those bold, defiant, energetic, perse
vering, successful business men are always
those whose generative organs are in perfect
health? You never hear such men complain of
being melancholy, of nervousness, of palpitation
of the heart. They are never afraid they can
not succeed in business; they don't become sad
and discouraged; they are always polite and
pleasant in the company of ladies, and look you
and them right in the face—none of your down
cast looks or any other meanness about them.
I do not mean those who keep the organs Infla
ted by running to excess. These will not only
ruin their constitutions, but also those they do
business with or for.
How many men, from badly cured diseases,
from the effects of self-abuse and excesses, have
brought about that state of weakness in those
organs that has reduced the general system so
much as to induce almost every other disease—
idiocy, lunacy, paralysis, spinal affections, sui
cide, end almost every other form of disease
which humanity is heir to, and the real cause
of the trouble scarcely ever suspected, and have
doctored for all but the right one.
Diseases of these organs require the use of a
Diuretic. LTELYBOLD'S FLUID EXTRACT
BUCHU is the great Diuretic, and is a certain
cure for diseases of the Bladder, Kidneys, Grav
el, Dropsy, Organic Weakness, Female Com

Female, from whatever cause originating, and
no matter of how long standing.
If no treatment is submitted to, Consumption
or Insanity may ensue. Our flesh and blood are
supported nom these sources, and the health
and happiness, and that of Posterity, depends
upon prompt use of a reliable remedy.
