The Mistery of Punctuation.

Boston, the copy, was received for a -scien- -

every letter well formed, every capital letter

called by the compositors the -best manu

given out to the compositors a 'few-pages
at a time, - who set it up and punctuated it as
they- bad been in the habit of doing, each:
as - he' thOtight Mc; sense required. , -The
proof-reader :read the proofs, made a, few
changes in, the punctuation, as he did-.in
most of the proofs, and the matter was co - r•
rented. - Another - proof was taken and cor-,
rected,aricinihemthirty or forty pages were,
ready they were to the author for ',his
inspection.: In a few days the proofs came
back; with the punctuation marked Ireely.
It was corrected, of course, and the compos
