MAN SliOr.—About 10 o'clock on Saturday night last, a well known desper ado named William Robinson, shot John Whyle a peaccablo citizen of our town.— The circumstances of the ease are as fol lows: Robinson went into Mack's Brew ery about the ; re. [erre 1 to an 1 :Like' for beer. Mr. Mack told him that ho was out and would not tap any more that rsiglit, whereupon Robinson knocked him down. Mr. Whyle witnessing this unprovoked assault, told Robinson he ought to be ashamed of himself to knock such an old man down, when Robinson drew an eight barrel revolver and fired two shots, one of which . struck in left side, near the heart, and inflicted, perhaps a fatal wound. He kept on firing until six shots were fired from his revolver. He then procured a double barreled gun and fired two loads at the door of the brewery, saying there were yet some Welshmen that he wanted to kill. A warrant was issued for his arrest and placed in the hands of Officer McGinnis, who, on Sunday morning went to Robin eon's house to arrest him, but being ap prised of the officer's approach, mule his escape through a window, and wait chased for about three miles but was captured, and brought before Esquire Hunter. who committed him to prison. When arrested, ho bad the pistol concealed in his boot-leg. Two barrels were still charged. Robinson is from Bahl more and is known fta a desperate character.
