Bar tholemow, Jr., Secretary. Directors, George H. McCabe, Dr. DaTiil Gilbert, Philadelphia. Dr. L. L. Walker, Philadelphia. Hon. F. W. Hughes, Potts ville, Hon. C. L. Lamberton, Clarion co. The property belonging to this company consists of 121 acres, 103 perches, in fee simple, of valuable Oil Land on the Clar ion River, which, empties into the Alle gheny about 40 miles below Oil creek.— Both streams traverse a country of the same geological formation, having the same indications of Oil, and are believed to he equally rich and valuable. This property' has Ic.ch selected with a view to its valuable location, having a front of more than half it mile, which gives it superior advsntages for drilling a a large number of wells, 'lt is designed to commence work on the gramid at once, The title has been pro norniced good, and free from ineumbrances. Thirtv - yenrs ago Mr. David Whitehill, in boriit,g forsidt. water, at the mouth of Deer creek, riteidng into the Clarion river, seven miles beloW tile site of the present town of Clarion, struck Oil at the depth of 300 feet. A stream of the fluid spouted up into the air, which continued to flow, cov ering the creek and adjoining land, until, with the greatest difficulty a plug was in serted into the openening whereby the salt water was allowed to flow, but mixed with the Oil. Recent developments have demonstra ted that Clarion River is superior in Oil territory, and all the river border from mouth to source has been bought up by companies and individual capitalists. Oil has recently been struck at a distance of 58 feet in the rock, not far from this land and a Mr. Lyon, of the Sligo Furnace, who has been boring for some time past, it is said has struck at tine producing well, 8 or 10 miles from this land. The Deer creek Oil companv, on company river, at the mouth of Deer creek, Beaver Township, Clarion county, has struck a flowing Well which is estimated ait s'oo barrels per day and other companies are boring with a good show of Oil. All of this land is rich in coal, Iron, Lead and Timber.. A limited number of shares will lie sold. Subscription price, .1,32 per sare, beingiu full and not liable to future assessment. $1!
