RAILROAD CITANTIES.—By reference to
our time table advertisements on our first
page, it Will be seen that the Reading Rail
road Company have changed their running
time, also the Wrightsville branch of the
Northern Central Railway. The Reading
and Columbia Railroad Company have also
made important changes.
SnOCKING AconmErs•r.—On Monday even

ding in Fourth street, this borough, while
attempting to . got on a freight train which
was passing through town, had his foot
crushed under the wheels and his leg so bad
ly lacerated that amputation was deemed
necessary. This is another sad warning, to
boys. •

In oda FortiiiiZlEill, on Tuesday even
lug next, for thebenefa of thus Presbyterian
Sabbath satolit af this place. The, great
feature of the exhibition will be Tableatcc
Vicaats, in which same gorgeous livin;
pictures will be presented. , It promises to
100 a beautiful affair.' We were present at
•`reherahal," a few evenings since, and must
say i t wits a rich treat. The display is es
sentially a new one in our community, and
combines instruction with amusement.—
The Scones they have taken show good
taste in the selections. "Hiawatha return
ing with his bride M innehalut," and "D nth
of Minneludia,""Signing the death warrant
of Lady Jane Grey." ,te. These characters
are deli nem ted with such shuplicity of
thought, an 1 graphic force of meaning,
which affords the clearest insight. The an
alysis of character which is displayed, and
its comprehensive studies of nature make
up a picture, the verisimilitude and depth
of which, realized at once the beauty and
simplicity of ideal art• The variety of the
entertainment thus afforded, the rich cos
tumes, splendid scenery, and the grouping
attitudes, will make the exhibition ono of
unusual Merit, and the praiseworthy object
to which the proceed are to be given de
serves liberal encouragement by our citi
zens. Another very pleasant feature of the
exhibition is, that the intervals between the
tableaux will be filled' by the delightful
music of Keffer's Orchestra. Much atten
tion is being paid to the preparations, so as
to insure its complete success. Well, wo
arc not going to preach a sermon about it
neither are we going to write a history, but
we know the exhibition will be of a novel
and extremely interesting character to our
people, and every available spot in Odd
Follows' Hall should be filled.

LIBERAL Do moss.—The employees
of the division of the Pennsylvania Central
railroad, extending from Philadelphia to
Harrisburg, have contributed $13,000 to the
Sanitary Fair at Philadelphia. The em
ployees of the Reading railroad company,
including the mechanics in the several
work shops, road hands, clerks, conduc
tors, have each contributed one day's
wages towards the great Sanitary Fair fund.
The total amount realized is over $lO,OOO.
STORM.—Tho storm that raged on
last Tuesday night, among other damages,
visited the hoMe of "Our Devil," and broke
from nature's fastening the large sheltering
limb of that time-honoied' willow, which
for so many summers cast a welcome shade
over the exhausted pedestrian who stopped
beneath it to 601 his fevered brow. The
roll of the thunder and the crash of the fall
en limb caused his "satanic majesty" to
arouse from his slumbers, which will ac
count for all the little mishaps that may
appear in the "Spy" for some time to come.

'COMMITTER FORA DAY'S *LABOR
GREAT CENTRAL S ANITAAT PAIR.
Committee on "Labor Incomes and Revenue'
Mee No. US S. SEVENTH ST.
JOHN N. CLAG HORN, Treasurer.
This Committee has a special work, to
wit: to obtain a day's "labor," a day's "in
come," and a day's "revenue," from every
citizen of the three States of Pennsylvania,
Now Jersey amid Delaware, for the benefit
of our sick and wounded soldiers.
The Committee is now.fully organized at
the above address, and calls for the co-op
eration of all classes in the community.
We want to show what the industrial
classes can do for their soldiers!
What the people can do in their separate
trades !
What Pennsylvania clan do!
What New jersey can do!
What Delaware can !
What each county can do!
What each city and town citadel
What each profession eau do!
What each trade can do!
What each occupation can do!
What each manufactory can do!
What each bank. insurance companyand
railroad can do!
What each mine can do!
What each workshop can do!
What each family can do!
What each man can do!
What each woman can do!
What each boy and girl can do!
We want to show to the world what Amer
ican freemen are ready to do for their sol
diers !
This is a great work and the time short.
The way to do so is to ORGANIZE!
Organize in your workshops—in your
fami lies.
Let the men organize.
Let the women organize.
Let the trades organize.
Organize everywhere.
Let the workmen give with their employ
ers, the employers with their workmen.
It is easily done. If the workmen will
authorize their employers to deduct one
day from their weetis or month's earnings,
and the employers WI add to it a day of
their profits. the whole sum will be ac
knowledged together to the credit of the es
tablishment. We say to all, go to work at
once with us in this great work. Hurry
forward your contributions. Every ac
knowledgment will stimulate others to fol
low your example.
Circulars with full instructions will be
sent upon application, by mail or other
wise, to the undersigned. To work! to
work! L. MONTGOMERY lIOND,
Chairman.
