TOBACCO.—DurIng the week alarge quan
tity of toba4co has changed hands. Thn
prices paid, ranges from Twelve to Eigh
teen cents per round. The cramp in this
county is good, and the pews realized,
would seem to indicate that raising the
"knozious weed" is a paying business.
ANOTHER BANK.—Tho First National
Bank of Lancaster has been organized
with a capital of $140,000, with privilege of

ARRIVED HOME.—Lieut. poi. F. S. Pyfer
of the 7th Pennsylvania Regt., and lately
a. prisoner in Richmond, arrived at his
home in Lancaster on Monday last.
Col. Pyfer has many friends in Colum
bia who will be glad tolearn of his safe ar
rival=he was taken prisoner at the battle
of Chicksmaugn. and he spent some six
months in the famous Libby prison,
REnEts.--About 333 rebels passed through
this place on Sunday morning, last, they
were from Columbus; Ohio, where they
have been kept in durance vile for several
months. They wore all officers, ranking
from General down to Lieutenant. Among
the noted cuts was General Vance, captur.
ed at a recent battle in Tennessee. Also,
Col. Dick Morgan and Captain Charlton
Morgan, Brothers to the" famous scoun
drel and murderer, General John Morgan.
Capt. Moodie was with them: Ile is a
Northern man by birth, and is brother to
a Colonel in the Union army. Under no
consideration should such a man be ex
chaneed,-but rather hung up by theneck
till life is extinct. There were' :somefive
or six Colonels in the batch, and the rest
were Captains and Lieutenants. , A few of
the number were dressed in citizen's
clothes, while seine presented-the appear
ance of privatos,.judqing from their dirty
and worn-out uniforms. Most of them.
carried carpot.-bags, well stocked , With pri
ate plan ler, while others carriellilankets.
