Notwithstanding the unfavorable times, the scarcity of labor, and the state of our country, this very important link of rail road connections has been pushed for ward to completion. We, the undersigned Auditors of Lan, caster county, do certify, that we have care fully examined the account of John Den linger, Esq., Treasurer of said county, and have compared his vouchers with the same and and a balancein his hands of Twenty nine thousand fivo hundred and forty-four dollars and forty-four cents, (129,544 44,) which he haspaid over to his successor, E Samuel Hess, sq., the present Treasurer, and for which he has shown us his receipt. We have examined the account of Chris tian Gast, Esq., Treasurer of the Poor and House of Employment of Lancaster coun ty, and find a. balance due him of El&t hundred and sixty-nine dollars and =y• I cent; (49369 50 ,) on the let day of January, 884.
