Itegiatent is now stationed: '
in immense mail has just arrived from
AVnahington, end goes to Perrysville by the
transport Commerce.
The current - report of two men being

false.
The troops expected to reach here last

Temporary barracks are being erected
for the troops in the place of tents.
Tns Ricer TALK.—Tho Newport News
reports the following:
"A correspondence, of which the follow
ing is the substance, is said to have passed
between Gov. Hicks of Maryland and Gov.
Sprague of Rhode Island, on Friday or
Saturday of last week, by telegraph:
Governor nicks to Govenor Sprague—'l
understand you are about to proceed to
Washington with the Rhode Island Regi
anent. I advise you not to take them
through Baltimore, and thus a voiJ trouble.'
Governor Spragae to Go' erner nicks—
'The Rhode Island Regim..mt are going to
Sight, and it matters not w!lether they fight
in Baltimore or Washington, , "
P , WDER Mrus.—There is said to be but
one p , wrier mill it, Virginia and eight in
Maryland, and mine in the rest of the South,
while Delaware ha nine and Pennsylvania
'has sixty-seven. From these figures it will
be seen how important it is-for the govern
ment to take passession of, or to render se--
cure, (for we believe they are in the hands
of Union men) the powder mills of Mary
land and Delaware. It will be impossible
then for the Richmond mill to begin to sup
ply the needs of the traitors—and the time
may arrive when we will eren put a stop to
that.
Governor Curtin will apportion the new
levy of troops umorig the counties according
to population. The State government is
greatly annoyed by companies arriving with
out orders, and hereafter all such will Le
refused and ordered home again.
The Administration has notified Governor
Letcher that one step in advance from Rich
mond will cease a speedy invasion of 'Vir
ginia from the west.
Perryville, April 2.9.—1 t is understood
that the passenger trains on the Philadel
phia, Wilmington and Baltimore railroad
will now run regularly, connecting at Per
ryville with a steamer to Annapolis. As
the road to Washington is well guarded
throughout its entire length by military,
travelers will have but little difficulty in
making a safe transit.
Troops still continue to arrive and depart.
The First Regiment City Guards, of Phila
delphia, have been provided with comforta
ble quarters in an old shed, and the soldiers
appear as well contented with their straw
beds as if they were reclining on downy
couches.

HENRY R. COSTAR.—AII the summer I
have been troubled wih Roaches and Mice.
1 was actually ashamed of the house, for the
Roaches were everywhere. 1 purchased a box
of you Exterminator and tried it, and in one
week there was not a Roach or Mouse in the
house.
JOHN B. GIVENS, No. 9l Elm street
HOUSEKEEPERS—troubIed with vermin,
need be so no longer, if they use "Costar's"
Exterminators. We have used it to our sat.
isfoction, and if a box cost $5, we would have
it. We had tried poisons, but they effected
nothing; but Costar's article knocks the breath
out of Rats, Mice and Bed Bugs, quicker than
we can write it. It is in great demand all
over the country.—rMadioo (0.) Gazette.
MORE GR:►LN and provisions are destroyed
annually in Grant county by vermin, than
would pay for tons of 'this Rat and Insect kil
ler.—Lancaster. (Wis.) Herald.
HENRY R. COSTAR—Your Exterminator
is received, used, and pronounced a decided
success. We used a box of it, and the way
the Rats and Mice around our premises "raised
Ned" that night was a caution to sleepers.
Since then not a Rat or Mouse has been heard
in kitchen or cellar.—Mv,gregor (Iowa) Times.
