07 The Shlppensburg News, of Saturday last,
says: The most astonishing success in catching
pigeons lately recorded, has been exhibited by a
gentleman in one of the small valleys in Perry
county. Wo understand that no less than five
thousand and seventy-eight of these birds were
caught by this "wholesale destroyer" in a single
day These at the rate of 25 cents per dozen, at
which they were disposed of, yielded the snug lit
tle corn of one hundred and five dollars and sev
enty-five cents for one day's work. Who can beat
it ?
"Tut :111muna or a. Lterriate : or, The Robber
of the Rhine Valley.' By Waldo Howard, Esq.—
This magnificent romance of the mystery of the
Shore and vicissitudes of the Sea meets with
an unprecedented sale. It is in the hands of
almost every one, and those who havo not
already obtained it, will unquestionably get
it. It sells for only 12} cants, and may be
found at any Periodical Depots in the United
States. The hook was issued last week, at
the Flag of our Union Office, by F. Gleason,
who, we learn, keeps his presses running night and
day, to satisfy the demand for this splendid pro
duction.
A. WlNeu, No. 3, Ledger Buildings, Philadel
phis, is wholesale agent for this splendid work.
