land county, I publish tho following, being the 4th
section of the Act of the General Assemldy of the
session of 1851, entitled ‘‘An Act to provide for the
Llection ol Judges of the several Courts of this
Con monwoalth, and to regulate certain Judicial
Districts.”
** -t. That tho election for Judges ’shall be
held and conducted in the several election districts
in t!ie same mauiier in all respects us elections f./r
Representatives are or shall be conducted, and tho
the same Judges, Inspectors, and nlll eers, and by

“ If any person not qualified to vote in this com
monwealth, agreeably to law, (except the sons of
qualified citizens) shall appear at any place of elec
tion for the purpose of issuing tickets or of inllu
eiicing the citizens qualified to vote, he shall on con
viction forfeit, ami pay any sum not exceeding one*
hundred dollars, for every such oflenee. and be im
prii-oned for any term not exceeding three mouths.”
Agreeably to the provisions of the sixty-first sec
tion of said not, every General and Special Election
shall he opened between the hours of eight and ten
in the forenoon, and shall continue without inter
ruption or adjournment until seven o'clock in the
evening, when the polls shall be closed.
And the Judges of the respective districts afore
said, are by the said act required to meet at the
Court Housa, in the borough of Carlisle, on the
third clay after the said day of election, being Fri
day, the 14th clay of October, then and there to per
form the things required of them by law. r
