If any person or persons shall make any bet or wager upon the result of any election with-' in.the Commonwealth, pr shall offer to make any such bet or wager, either by verbal pro clamalion thereof, or by any written or prin ted -advertisement challenge 01 invite any per son to make such bet or wager, upon convic tion thereof he or they shall forfeit and pay three times the amount so bet or to he bet. ‘lf any person not by law -qualified, shall Iraudulenlly vole at any election in this Com monwealth, or being otherwise qualified shall vole mil of his proper district, or if any person knowing the want of such', qualifications, shall aid or procure such person to vote, the person offending shall, on conviction, be fined *in any sum not exceeding two hundred dpllsrs, and be imprisoned for any term* not exceeding three months. - ■ - ‘lf any person shall vole at more than one election district, or otherwise fraudulently vole more than once on the same day. or shall frapdlently fold or deliver to the inspector two tickets together, with the intent illegally to vole, or shall procure anotherc so to do, he or they offending, shall on convition be fined in any sum not less than fifty nor more than five hundred dollars, and be imprisoned for any term hot less than three nor more- than twelvemonths, . ‘lf any person not qualified to Vole in this Commonwealth, agreeably ,to law, (except the sons of qualified citizens) shajr appear at any place of election for the purpose of issuing tickets or of influencing the citizens qualified to vole, he shall on conviction forfeit and pay any sum not exceeding one hundred dollars for every such offence, and be imprisoned lor any term not exeecding three months." Agreeably to the provisions of the sixty first section of said act, every General and Special Election shall bo. opened between the hours of. eight and ten in the forenoon, and shall continue wilhout inlei-ruption nr adjourn ment until seven o’clock in the evening, when the polls shall be closed.
