We were reluming from the great Boston and
Fashion race on Long Island, and as it is g«n*
eraly the case at such time tliere was a queer
crowd on the train, and the conductor experi
enced considerable difficulty in collecting his
fare. In the motley mass was a accdy-lookmg
Dutchman, who took a scat just in front of us.
and we noticed ns the collector of the tickets

easily, and looked particularly nervous. At
length the dreaded moncy-deuiander stood con
fronting him.

cinity, that on the Ist September, 1860, they will
commence the second session, in Louther at.,
near the German Reformed Church, ol their
SEMINARY FOR YOUNG LADIES.
The Institution will bo both a boarding and
day school, in which all the branches necessary
for the complete education of young ladles will
he taught. Assistants ol the highest character
for quail (Irat ions and morality will he employed,
in accordance with the wants ol the Institution.
The government will be conducted on strictly
Christian principles, while sectaiianism will be
as rigidly excluded. .
The Principals Hatter themselves that their
long and snccesslul expeiience as tcacheis, as
testified by the recommendations in their pos
session, will enable them to establish an lustitn
hon of the highest diameter for young ladies.
They are fully persuaded that such an Institu
tion will be sustained here by the citizens and
neighboring country, and hope that their confi
dence may nut be disappointed.

(eleven weeks each,) beginning on September
1, and ending on second Wednesday in July.
