found classed in tho catalogues of the great
Trade Sales in New York, Philadelphia, and
other cities, and sold by the principal booksol
lera in tho United States. It was first published
in 1847, since which time Jive huwired thousand
topics have been sold, of which there wore up
wards of one hundred thousand sent by mail,
attesting the high estimation in which it is held
os a reliable popular medical book for every fe
male, tho author having devoted his exclusive
attention to the treatment of complaints peculiar
io females, in respect to which lie is yearly con
sulted by thousands, both in person and by let
ter.
Hero every woman can discover, by compar
ing her own symptoms with those described, the
nature, character, causes of, and the proper re
medies for, ber complaints.
The wife about becoming a mother lias oflen
need of instruction and advice ol the utmost

It is of course impracticable to convey fully
