“ Dr. Hoofland’s German Bitters, manufactured
by Dr. Jackson, are now recommended by some of
(he most prominent members of the focnlty, os an
article of much efficacy in cases of femalo weaknes

[From thoN.Y. Weekly Messenger,Jan. 0,1800.]
“ Dr. Uoujland't German Bitters.—Here is a pre
paration which the leading presses in the Union ap
pear to bo unanimous in recommending, and tho
reason is obvious. It is made after a proscription
furnished by,one of tho most celebrated physicians
of modern limes, the laic Dr, Christopher, Wilhelm
Hoofland, Professor to the University of Jena, Pri
vate Physician to the King of Prussia, and one of
tho greatest medical writers Germany has over pro
duced. He was emphatically the enemy Of Aamiug,
and therefore a medicine of which ho was the in
ventor and endorser, may bo confidently relied on.
Ho specially recommended it in Liver Comploint,
Dyspepsia, Debility, Vertigo, Acidity of the Sto
mach, Constirpalion, and oil complaints arising from
a disordered condition of thestomach, the Liver, and
tho intestines.
The “Philadelphia Saturday* Gazette,” the boat
Family Newspaper published in tho United Slates,
the editor soys of
DU. HOOFLAND’S GERMAN BITTERS,
“It isscldom that wo recommend whuUrotermcd
Patent Medicines to tho confidence and patronage
of our renders; and, therefore, when wo recommend
Dr, Hopfland’s German Billers, wo wish it to bodU- •
linclly understood that wo arc not speaking of the J
nostrums of tho day, that are noised about for a brief 1
period, and then forgotten after they have donothoir *
guilw taco of , mischief, but of a medicine long cs- 1
; tarnished, universally priwsd, and which has mol the '
I hearty approval of the faculty itself.”
r Evidence upon evidence has boon received (like
the foregoing) from all sections of the Union, tho
aal three years, and the strongest testimony in its
J favor is, that there is more of It used in the proctico
of tho regular physicians of Philadelphia, than all
other nostjums combined—a fact that can bo easily
; established, and fully proving (bat a scientific pro
-1 pnration will moot with their quiet .approval when
presented oven in (bis form.
That this Medicine will cure Liver. Complaint
