Notice to Bridge Builders.
THE Commissioners of Cumberland county, in
connection with the Commissioners of York county,
will receive proposals In Cumberland county until
the 271 h day of July next, and in York county until
Tuesday the 30lh of July next, for the building of a
Wooden Bridge,
across tbo Ycllow Breeches Creek at a.polnt where
iho road loading from LewUberry to Harrisburg
crosses said crock, at or near Brooks* mill; in .Allen
township, Cumberland oounty. The Bridge is to bo
of the following dimensions, viz: To contain in
length 137 feet in the clear from one-abutment to
tho. other) and 16 feet wide in thc.clear, with two
abutments each 15 feet (hick in the bottom, with a
battering wall of one inch to the foot on three sides
of tho abutments. 'The abulmcriU to bo 14 foot high
from the bottom-of tho creek to the cordline, from
which two wooden arches are to be started nnd ex
tended across said creek from ono abutment to the
other and to be double floored with two inch plank,
the lower pine and (lie upper ouk, and raised in tho
cyntro 17 inches, (he sides and gable ends of said
bridge to be of a sufficient height to admit a covered
or hay wagon to pass through the same.. The bridge
is to ho closely wentherboardud with three quarter
pine boards well lapped. Tho whole of (he \york of
said bridge to bo roofed with good umj sufficient white
pine shinglis, ond said roofing.lo extend at each end
13 feet over (ho heel of the arch on the top of tiro
abutments and on each.side of the hrldg(i ovej lbp
wealhferbonrdihg two feet. .The abutments orb lo.bo
built on-a firm foundation and to lie Approved of by
the Commissioners. The whole of 'thd mason work!
to bo-well built of hard and large stone, lime mortar
and pointed fioin llio back of the abutments. The

od with wlrtg Wolfs on each side five feet thick, at
the abutments-toljh n battering of one, inch to'the
foot to the lop of the filling and to extend In that
manner on the two extreme sides of the bridge until

nsconl not exceeding an angle of fobt degrees eleva-
tion from the rood to the bridge, with; curtain walls
of sufficient length and thickness and covered rtith
broad stone well secured. The woodwork on the
ojit and Inside of the bridge is to bo whitewashed

materials ul his own expense, and to give such secu*
rlty aS the Commissioners shall require, for the faith*
ful performnneb of the workmanship ond permanency
