Dear Sir:—ln reply to your question respecting
tho use of Dr. Dfakc,’s' Panacea, I will say, that al
though a perfect disbeliever In tho existence of a Pa
nacea, or cure for all diseases, however valuable it
may be In certain conditions of the system, still: I
have believed thi.t a cure for Consumption would be
discovered sooner or later, and curiosity led me to try
your medicine in two very inveterate cases. They
were pronounced by tho attending physicians to be
pulmonary consumption, and abandoned by them as
incurable. One. of the persons bad . been under, the
treatment of several very able practitioners for a nura
ber of- years, and they said she., hud “ old fashioned
consumption combined with scrofula/’ and (hat.she
might Unger for.soiQO time, but could not bo. perma
nently. relieved.. In both cases the cttect of the Pana
cea has been most gratifying. Only four or fivo bot
tles were used by oho oftho persons before she began
to improve ropidly. The other took about'tcn. I
will only add that familiar as I am with consumption
by inheritance and by extensive observation ss a stu
dy, and knowing also the injurious effects in nine
cases out of ten of tar, boncsct, and other vegetable*
tonics, as well as of’ many of the expectorants and
sedatives, I should.never have recommended tho use
ofDnko’s Panacea if 1 had not been acquainted with
the ingiedicnlr. . Suffice it to say that these arc re
commended by our most popular and scientific physi
cians, and in their present combined state, form pro
bably the best alterative that has over been made.—
Tho cure is In accordance with a theory of consump
tion broached in Franco a few years ago, by one of
her most eminent writers on medicine, and now es
tablished by facts which aamit of no dispute.
