turbulent citizens of oar sister Republic. Their be

strong, and with them incontrovertible; if the
teachings are erroneous, the crimes committed under
their sanction are upon the head of the church. 1
cannot say (hat I was not favorably impressed toward
the Catholic' religion as it exists hi Mexico. The
cathedrals and churches do not have] pews or seats
as all churches do here—where you must pay, for
one, or stand a] chance of sometimes silling upon the
floor, or standing up during the service; but prince
and beggar, millionaire and loporo, kneel side by
aide upon the floor. Christians know.no rank there.
Mass over, all the sins of commission and omission
atoned for, the populationgo forth for enjoyment;

Around this fountain is a large circle bordered by

THE subscriber? haiing purchased :"tho right of
Cumberland county for making Crowell’s Potent
j 1 permometer Churns; they would respectfully in
form IhaFarmerßand the public, ingonoral, that they
will make Jtml offer foreale these churns' at the Cab
inet Wardroom of George Spangler, in Iforih Han
over street, next Boor to David Smith's office! The
principal advantage (his churn has over all other
ohurna is, that it is so codatihcl'ed.ihat the top can bo
token off so as to give free access to the inside of the
chum, which makes it convenient to put in the cream
and get out the butter'. A thermometer is-atiscced
to the one end of the churn so as to show the exact
temperature of the cream; which .experience shows
•should ho 60 degrees to make good butter. A cham
ber or space is arranged around the bottom, of the
churn for tho purpose of admitting eold or Warm wa
ter! so as tp Bring the cream to tho desired tempera
ture without mixing the watei.with the cream. The
secretin churning butter,is to have your cream at
the proper temperature—it will produce more and
betterviiutter and take less time in churning—it churns
equally well in coldior warm weather; no such thing
as having scalded butter—all that is necessary to
make good butter all seasons of the year is to get one
of Crowell's Patent Thermometer Churns’. We would
mtist respectfully invito the public to call and exam
me for themielvea.

Mr. George Spangler:
r Sir-We liavo been using thoTheirnomeier Churn
I got of j°u f or some time end find It far superior to
the old barrel churn for several reasons. First, groat
saving of time in getting butter the average, time of
churning being about fifteen minutes, (all weathers)
we have got buttpr in.llio ahdrl (pace of ted minutes,
beconijly, the butler when, obtained is much firlncr
than 1 when'using, any other churn. Finally, my
folks say they would not exchange for any other
churn and twice, the original cost of the Thermome
ter churn. Fours, &c.

been using the old barrel churn for thirty rears past,
and I must say it is not to be compared to Crowell’s
Thermometer Churn, cither for speed of churning or

now in the Thermometer churn wo can.churn butter
