SURPRISING.
It is really surprising how rapidly
Dr. Wengeres Family Medicines
are becoming popular all over the country.
Thousands are daily praising them for their many
virtues and say they would not be without them in
their families. To you who have never tested
them, we would say if you have Freer and Ague
you cannot do better than use
DR. WENGERT'S
MOUNTAIN H ERB BITTERS.
For Liver Complaints, Scrofulous Affections and

Morbees, Colic, Cramps, Sprains, Bruises, mac.
Dr. Wengert's Hepatica Pills
are an Alternative Cathartic, and can be used for
an ordinary Cathartic or Physic, and should al
ways be used in connection with the MOUNTAIN
HERB BITTERS in severe cases of Fever and
Ague. We know that there is continually being
palmed upon the people some wonderful prepara
tion that is without merit or virtue, therefore the
people lose confidence in preparations that do pos
sess virtue. Yet it would certainly be unwise and
unreasonable to condemn all the various remedies
offered to the public because some ure disgraceful
humbugs. All we ask is for you to give
Dr. Wengert's Family Medicines
a fair trial, and if they aro not deserving of your
praise and confidence, then denounce them in your
strongest terms.

ARION PIAN
IS SUPERIOR TO ALL OTHERS
Tho ARION PIANO-FORTE has groator p,
than any other Piano-Forte manufactured.
It will Stand in Tune Longer,
and in its mechanical construction it is more pi
feet, and, therefore, more durable, than any instru•
ment constructed in the usual modern style.
The arrangement of the Agraffe, the manner of
stringing, the peculiar form and arrangement of
the Iron Frame
SUPERCEDES ALL OTHERS.
The use of a bar (which is a part of the Iroi
Frame on a line with the heavy steel stringing,)
gives
GREAT STRENGTH
where most needed, and in this respect all °tin
piamoes fail.
The construction of the WREST PLANK, into
which the tuning Pins are inserted, is such that it
is impossible for the pins to come loosened, or the
Wrest Plank itself to split, as is too often the case
in other Piano-Fortes.
The Extraordinary Evenness
throughout the scale, the excellent Singing Quali•
ity, the
LENGTH AND PURITY OF VIBRATION,
all go to prove what we claim, viz : that the
ARION PIANO-FORTE
Is the Best Instrument Manufactured.

SYRUP OF POKE 8007'
Wherever Poke Rout grows, it has a local repu
tation as a 13Iood Purifier, and for the care of
Rheumatism. With all this local reputation, and
the praise of distinguished Physicians, (Dee. Coe,
Lee, King, Wilson, M. Hunt, Griffits, Copland and
others,) who have tested its medical powers; it
has been neglected by the profession at large, as
much through a want of a proper appreciation of
its merits, as a knowledge of the proper way to
prepare it for medical use. Dr. Oliver Crook, (a
physician who devotes his entire time to the duties
of his profession), has fully tested the active med
ical qualities of Poko Root during the last 25
years, and unhesitatingly pronounces it to have
seas M ERIT—for diseases depending on a deprav
ed condition of the blood,—than any and all other
articles named in the Materia Medico.. Under his
instructions our Chemists have combined the ac

Tonic Preparation of Iron, and we offer this prep
aration to the public under the above name.

INEGAR BITTERS—PURELY
VEGETABLE—FREE FROM ALCOHOL—
DR. WALKER'S CALIFORNIA VINEGAR BITTERS.
Vinegar Bitters are not a vile Fancy Drink, made
of Poor Rum, Whiskey, Proof Spirits and Refuse
Liquors, doctored, spiced, and sweetened to please
the taste, called "Tonics," "Appetiser.," "Restor
ers," Ac., that lead the tippler on to drunkenness
and ruin, but are a true Medicine, made from the
native roots and herbs of California, free from all
Alcoholic Stimulents. They are the Great Blood
Purifier and a Life-giving Principle, a Perfect
Renovator and Invigorator of the System, carry
ing off all poisonous matter and restoring the
blood to a healthy condition, enriching it, refresh
ing and invigorating both mind and body. They
are easy of administration, prompt in their action,
certain in their results, safe and reliable in all
forms of disease.
No Person can take these Bitters according to
directions, and remain long unwell, provided their
bones are not destroyed by mineral poison or other
means, and the vital organs wasted beyond the
point of repair.
Dyspepsia or ludgestion. Headache, Pain in the
Shoulders, Coughs, -Tightness of the Chest, Diz
ziness, Sour Fructations of the Stomach, Bad
Taste in the Mouth, Billions Attacks, Palpitation
of the Heart, Inflamation of the Lunge,
Pain in
the regions of the Kidneys, and a hundred other
painful symptoms, are the offsprings of Depepsia.
In these complaints it has no equal,' and one bot
tle will prove a better guarantee of its merits than
a lengthy advertisement.
For Female Complaints, in young or old, mar
ried or single, at the dawn of womanhood, or the
turn of life, these Tonic Bitters display so decided
an influence that a marked improvement is coon
perceptible.
For Inflammatory and Chronic Itheumatient and
Gout, Dyspepsia or Indigestion, Bilious, Remit
tent and Intermittent Fevers Diseases of the
Blood, Liver, Kidneys and Bladder, these Bitters
have been most successful. Such Diseases are
caused by Vitiated Blood, which is gencrally pro
duced by derangement of the Digestive Organs.
They are a Gentle Purgative as well se a Tonic,
possessing also the peculiar merit of acting as a
powerful agent in relioving Congestion of the
Liver and Visceral Organs, and in Bilious Diseases.
For Skin Disease; Eruptions, Tetter, Salt
Rheum, Blotches, Spots, Pimples, Pustules, Boils,
Carbuncles, Ring-worms, Scald-Head, Sore Eyes,
Erysipelas, Itch, Scurts, Disco'orations of the
Skin, - Humors and Diseases of the Skin, of what
ever name or nature, arc literally (lug up and car
ried out of the system in a short time by the use
of these Bitters. One bottle in such cases wil
convince the most incredulous of their curative
effects.
Cleanse the Vitiated Blood whenever you find
its impurities bursting through the shin in Pim
ples, Eruptions, or Sores; cleanse it when you find
it obstructed and sluggish in the veins; cleanse it
when it is foul; your feelings will tell you when.
Keep the blood pure, and the health of the systems
will follow.
Grateful thousands proclaim Vinegar Bitters the
most wonderful Invigorant that ever sustained
the sinking system.
Pin, Tape, aunt other Worms, lurking in the
system of so many thousands, are effectually de
stroyed and removed. Says a distinguished phy
Biologist There is scarcely an individual upon
the face of the earth whose body is exempt front
the presence of worms. It is not upon the healthy
elements of the body that worms exist, but upon
the diseased humors and slimy deposits that breeu
these living monsters of disease. No system of
Medicine, no vermifuge, no anthelminities, will
free the system front worms like these Bitters.
Mechanical Dioceses. Persons engaged in Paints

structions of the liver, a weakness and irritable
state of the stomach, and great torper of the bow

In their treatment, a purgative, exerting a power.
ful influence upon these various organs, is essen
tially necessary. There is no cathartic for the
purpose equal toile. J. Walker's Vinegar Bitters,
as they will speedily remove the dark-colored
viscid matter with which the bowels are loaded, at
the same time stimulating the secretions of the
liver, and generally restoring the healthy func

tional Diseases, Walker's Vinegar Bitters have
shown their great curative powers in the most ob
stinate and intractable eases.
Dr. Walker's California Vinegar Bitters act on
all these cases in a similar manner. By purifying
the Blood they remove the cause, and by resolving
away the effects of the inflamation (the tubercular
deposits) the affected paste receive health, and a
permanent cure is effected.
The properties of Dr. Walker's Vinegar Bitters

Sedative properties allay pain in the nervous sys
tem, stomach, and bowels, either from inflame
lion, wind, colic, cramps, etc. Their Counter-Ir
ritant influence extends throughout the system.
Their Diuretic properties act on the Kidneys, cor
recting and regulating the flow of urine. Their
Anti-Bilious properties stimulate the liver, in the
secretion of bile, and its discharges through the

agents, for the cure of Bilious Fever, Fever and

Fortify the body against disease by purifying all
its fluids with Vinegar Bitters. No epidemic' .n

the stomach, the bowels, the kidneys, and the
nerves are rendered disease-proof by this great
invigorant.
Directions.—Take of the Bitters on going to
