'Stated meeting, February 5, 1869:
The Council met. Present—Assistant
,Burgesses Messrs. Miller and Elliott;
'Council, Messrs. Artley, Black, Cun
njrigharo, ICarmon; Hofright y Jackson
and Port.
The , minutes of the last stated moot
ing were•read and approved.
The special committee appointed to
settle with delinquent collectors was
called,upon for their report, when a
motion-was' Made to grant the com
mittee further time, and on this mo
tion the yeas and nays were demanded

— So tho Motion was not agreed to.
Messrs. Cunningham and Jackson
moved that the committee shall be
discharged from the further consider
ation of the subject, which was not
agreed to.
A motion was made that the Coun
cil now proceed to make a settlement
with 'the ColleCtors, whereupon the
ishair, ruled the Motion out
,of order
upoit the ground that the matter had
been instructed to 'a special committee
which the Council had refused to die
charge.
Mr. - Elliott moved that the commit
tee ,be instructed to make final report
at the next stated meeting,.wbich was
agreed to.. -
Mr. Miller, Chairman bf the Build
ing Committee, made report that the
committee had met and in pursuance
of instruction of the Council had con
ferred- with' Mr. Artley and others in
relation -to a plan for the Engine house
and had 'a drawing of the same made;
also, that he bad negotiated the re
quired loan. •
On motion, of Mr. Black and Mr.
Cunningham, it'was •
. Resolved, That as, somas the net now
pending in the State Legislature, authoriz
ing the contemplated loan is passed, the
Chairman shall call a spe.ial meeting of the
Council for the purpose of adopting measures
for the immediate commencement of the work
,of building.

County Treasury the sum of $5,029'09, and from all Other

year, $l2B 62, (see above statements,) and by arlding . these
two last items together, and subtracting their sum
