The oceaKkri of' the burning of the
chimney in Judge Taylor's house,. on
Wednesday evening last, resulted in
considerable exciternent.among a por
tion of onr people: The chimney was,
as eviuc d by its burning, exceedingly
,dirty, and caution had to be exercised
to prevent the surrounding buildings
from being ignited by the sparks
therefrom. The chimneys of all hous
es should be cleaned at every- oppor
tunity; and ; as the roOfa are now Cos ,
ered with snow, we would advise those
who have dirty chimneys to burn theM
out, or ( therwise cleared of their
combustible contents.
