Several Silver Medals heretofore received by the manu facturers. and a large quantity of documents were in the Safe. and came out entirely uninjured. Ferris & Garrett, of our city, some nine months ago, was severely trued by burglars last Saturday night, and although they had a sledge hammer. cold chisels, drill and gunpowder, they did not succeed in opening the Safe. My storehouse, together with several others, was burned to the ground in March last.— The Safe fl-Il through into the cellar, and was exposed to intense heat for six or eight hours, and when it was taken from the ruins sod opened. all its contents where found to be in a perfect state, the books and the papers not being injured any whatever.
