Fourth Annual Exhibition of the United
States Agricultural Society, will be held at Powel ton, (Phil
adeiphia,) on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Friday, and
Saturday, October ith, Bth, 9th, 10th and llth.
Premiums from $25 to $2.00, amounting in the aggregate
to $14,000, Will be offered for the various classes of Domes
tic Animals, Fruits, American Wines, Vegetables, Grains,
and Agricultural Implements and Machinery.
A Local Committee at Philadelphia, representing the Am
rions branches of Industry, has been appointed to co-oper
ate with the officers of the Society, in perfecting arrange
ments for the Exhibition. And $15,000 have been guar
anteed to meet expenses. This material aid, coupled with
the excellence of the selected location, and the - large
amount of Premiums offered, induces the expectation that
the Exhibition of 1856, will be superior to any of its pre
decessors.
A Grand Agricultural Banquet, in which ladies, as well
as gentlemen, will participate, will take place on Friday,
October 10th, when distinguished gentlemen will address
the assemblage.
Favorable arrangements with the various railroads, for
the transportation of Stock and other articles are in pro° ,
ress, the terms of which will be given on application at
the office. . .

The List of Entries, the Awards of Premiums, and the
Proceedings, will be•published in the Journal of the Soci
ety for 1856.
The Premium Ligt, with the Regulations and Programme
of the Exhibition, will be furnished on application to Mr.

FINE LIMESTONE LAND, situate in Woodcock Valley,
Huntingdon county, about one mile from McConnellstown,
one and a half from the Broad Top Rail Road, and six and
a half from the Pennsylvania Rail Road and Canal at Hun
tingdon. There are 451 ACRES in the . whole tract, 200 of
which are cleared and in good cultivation; 100 acres are in
clover and 20 in timothy. It is all GOOD LIMESTONE
LAND, and can conveniently be divided into two or more
farms.
There aro a good Dwelling House, Frame Stable,
Double Barn and Outbuildings and Two Orchards,
on the property.
A stream sufficient for a Saw Mai runs through it, and
there are springs in every field except one.
The land which is not cleared is well covered with Pop

ple timber of the best quality.
There is a good Lime Kiln on the farm, and a rein of
Fossil. Ore runs through the land, which will make iron
equal to any manufactured on the Juniata.

NUAIL LINE from Mount Union to
CIIAMBERSBURG. The undersigned still contin
ues to run a tri-weekly lino of stages over the road between

enced and trusty drivers will superintend the running of
the Coaches. The proprietor of the line is desirous that it
be maintained, and he thereibre earnestly calls upon the
public generally to patronise it, confident that it will be

will be given, and the running of the stages will be regu

Stages leave Mt. Union at 5 o'clock, p. nt., every
Tuesday. Thursday and Saturday—returning on Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays; arriving at Mount Union in
time for the cars. Stages stop at Shirleysburg, Orbisonin,
Shale Gap, Burnt Cabins, Fannetsburg, Horse 'Valley,
Stranburg, and Keefer's store.
