lin Professorship is still vacant, by, reason
of a ftilure on the part o f the Board and
the Pennsylvania Synod to harmonise on
a nomination. The instruction embraced

BARS BURNT.—On the night of the
13th inst., tho barn of Mr. Henry Bair, of
Union township, was totally destroyed
i•v fire, together with all its contents,
em's isting of cows, carriage, agricultural
implements, &e. Fortunately, none of
bis horses wore in the barn at the time,
they being out in pasture for the night.
It was undoubtedly, the work,of an Ineen
diacy, as was evident from the fact that
when first discovered, the fire was raging
in three different places, making such

assistance could be obtained, the entire
barn was nearly in ashes. The loss will
prove quite a serious one to AA% 8., as he
can illy afford it,' not being 'petutiessised of
