Borman :— ln conversations with some of my neighbors, it occurred to us that RI would be a good idea it the Directors of th4t Poor of this county were to purchase and put on the farm belonging to the' Poor House some of the improved stocks for Beef and Dairy purposes now attracted so much atten tion. Improved stock is badly needed in this county, but most of farmers are prevented from purchasing by lesson of the high prices at which they are held. Now it would not cost the county more to feel the best of stock titan to feed inferior stock. The increased outlay in their first purchase would be but a trifle to the tax-payers, while a great benefit would be conferred on the public by introduc ing in this way improved stock. At the last County Fair I noticed some fine stock au ex hibition from the College at Emmittsburg, and understood that the College had realized about iOOO in sale of calves the last year, to say nothing of the good done to the neighborhood. Now, if a private Institution can do that much, why not the Directors of the Poor, acting as public officers? I leave this suggestion to those interested. A FAEMEE.
