Tux Moßmorr Cotarrnv.—Theanomalbus
territory of Utah receives its populatfoirchiel-•
ly from Europe. Few *wefts to! the liter
doctrine of Mormonism aie i gathered from the
United States. But thq Mormon missionaries
seem to exert aveimilat fascination over the
peasantry of Great Brit*in and of the noth
•ern kingdoms of Europe. New recruits for
the colony are constantly , arriving from -.these
countries. Q few weeks ago a steamer left
Liverpool with fourfiundied Mormon disci
ples, most young, .between the ages of eigh
teen and twenty-eight, and about equally divi
ded in sex. Not long agff a company of four
hundred arrived pt New York, emigrants
from Denmark, Sweden , - and Norway. The
territory is gaining rapidly in population and
wealth, and Brigham Yong is establishing
different kinds of manufactures to increase
the variety of its industrial 'resources. It is
very doubtful if any successor can inaintain
the authority of leadership which he has won
by shrewdness and mental force. The whole
history of this delusion is a disgrace to the
civilization and religion of the nineteenth
century, and a blot on the free institutions of
America. —Providence Journal.
Tut= are now strong indications that tne
union of the different branches or "schools'= of
the Presbyterian church, which has been
mooted for several years past, will soon be
accomplished. A convention of representa
tives from the separate associations was held
in Philadelphia recently, for the purpos of de
veloping a - feasible plan of union. George
11. Stuart was the presiding officer. A plan
was adopted, which. provides for the recogni
tion of the Westminster Confession of Faith,
the toleration •f Heidelberg Confession, makes
the Divine - authority of the Bible an indispen
sable principle, and while recommending the
use of the Psalms provides for the toleration
of the ordinary hymns. The action of this
convention has no binding • effect, of course,
but is likely to have a great influence in bring
ing this divided sect into a united Christain
body.

The necessity of a due proportion of iron lit the blood
is well known to all medical men; when it becomes re
duced iron any cause whatever, the whole system euffere.
the weakest part beir g first attacked, and a feeling of
languor, lassitude, and "all gonenees" pervades the sys•
tern. Stimulants only afford temporary relief, and have
the same effect ae giving a tired horse the whip instead
of oats. Thu true remedy is to supply the blood with the
necessary quantity of iron. This can be done by using the
PERUVIA N SYRUP,
a protected solution of the pride:lde of Iron, which is ep
prepared that it assimilates at once with the blood, giv•
ing strength, vigor and new life to the whole system.
To take medicine to cure divests occasioned by a del.
ciency of IRON IN TILE ithout restoring it to
the system. is like trying to rep, it a building when the
foundation is gone.
An etnineat divine says: "I hays been using the PERU
\IAN SYRUP for some time past; it gives me new vigor.
buoyancy co spirits; elasticity of muscle."

mendations from some of the most eminent physicians
