“IN. Y. MILK CONTROL BOARD
SAYS OCTOBER PRICE, SL70
Preliminary estimates of the prices
i padd for milk delivered in October show
an estimated average price of $1.70 a
{hundred pounds for milk testing 3.5
iper cent. of fat and delivered in the
1201 to 210 mile zone. Milk used in
_ | butter Increased from 79 cents a hun
dred to 81 cents; milk used in cheese
dropped from nearly 05 cents to eighty
cents a hundred, while milk used in
Classes 2-E and 2-D brought less the
latter half of the month due to lows
ered prices In those classes. The
blended price of $1.70 can he compared
to 31.79 In August, and 31.81 in Sep-
tember. The lower price in October is
due to the exceedingly heavy October
production, estimated by some come
panies to be twenty pounds a day to
the herd more than the October, 1033,
yield, The blended price cannot be
maintained at the August and Septem:
ber level with, the increase in deliveries,
according to the Control Board, even
though the present fluld milk prices
are malntaived,
