FIRED, GETS
VACATION PAY
Benjamin EK. Focht, lewisburg
one of the best known political figures
in the State. will get two weeks® vaca.
tion pay from the State, although he
has not been a State ance
January.
Focht, a former Congressman. was a
deputy Becretary of the Commonwealth
prior to the Pinchot administration.
He was ousted when Pinchot came In-
to office. .
Thursday. however, Richard J. Beam-
ish, Secretary of the Commonwealth,
announced he has jssued an order for
two weeks’ pay--on the basis of $5000
a year salary~-for Focht. This, he said,
is because Focht was fired without the
custofhary two weeks’ notice.
Whether this courtesy will be ex
tended to other fired employes could
not be learned.
