The sad news of the death of Henry
Jordan. of MeConnefl., Illinois, was
received at this place last week. Mr.
Jordan was a former Centre county
boy and was well known throughout
this section on account on sevegal
trips made to the old home.
Great excitement prevadled Satur:
day evening when word was received
here that Charles Stoners house was
afire. The flames were held in check
by residents until a fire engine from
State College came and extinguished
olthem. The bouse is badly damaged
and will’ have to be replaced by a new
one. We all admit that this is a bad
time of year to be burned out,
Mr. and Mra. Wm. Rockey and
daughter, of Altoona, spent Sunday at
the home of the former's parents,
at this place.
Mr. and Mra. C. PP. Ramer and son
Joseph and Charles spent Sunday at
