Ralston and Howard Calla- han, two ambitions young men from Potter township, left on Tuesday - for Kansas City, Missouri, where they ex- pect to take a full course in automobile repairing in one of the best schocls in the country. Of this she is certain from the fact that certain letters coming into her possession indicate that in 1865 her grandfather left this section for the west where he mar- ried and reared a family. After an absence of almost forty years, William Farnper, of Machias, New York, came to Centre Hall the latter part of last week. He is builder and contractor, The senior Farner was ac- companied by his son Keith, and two of his brothers, Messrs. John W. and El- mer, both of Port Allegheny, this state John is superintendent of the Potter Gas Company, and Elmer 1s also em- ployed by the same concern in an im- portant way. The three brothers were mere boys when they left here, and are ns of the late John Fi arner, who built the public school building and various other structures in Centre Hall. D. W. Bradford had three toes on his left foot badly mashed on Monday when a horse owned by Cloyd Brooks stepped on the foot. Mr, Brooks was preparing to move a binder bought of Mr. Brad- ford, when the animal, 10 being hitched to the machine, suddenly wheeled about and placed its weight on Mr. Bradtord’s foot. Needless to say it has given him much pain. The following item appeared in the Sunbury Daily, date of Sept. 3, and concerns a young lady, a former resi- dent of Centre Hall, and granddaughter of Mr, and Mrs, John Geary: John Friedman and Miss Edna Krape, popu- lar Converting Works employes, were guests of honor at a chicken and waffle supper attended by a number of their fellow employes at the Buffalo Valley Inn, at Mifflinburg, last evening. Miss Krape is soon to wed and Mr. Friedman will attend the University of Penna, During the Grange Encampment and Fair Felix Lee, accompanied by Mrs. Lee and daughter, Miss Naomi, were among the Reporter's callers, Mr, Lee is general foreman of construction of bridges and buildings for the Lehigh Valley Railroad Company and with his family lives at Sayre, Susquehanna county. Justnow the Lees are on a va- cation and will visit Altoona, Pitts. burgh, Toledo, and Detroit. At the lat- ter place a son, Roy E. Virginia, died suddenly in the Bellefonte hospital this Wednesday morning about eight o'clock, following hemorrhages, His wife, nee Miss Anna Grove, of Cen- tre Hall, and his mother, of Pleasant Gap, survive.
