The frame work of A. 5S. Kerlin's
new home is ups
The Lutherans have selected a lot fcr
a new church at Coburn,
The Centre Hall postoffice was re-
moved on Monday from Reesman’s tin
shop to Wolf's store.
The carpenters are at work on the
steeple of ‘he new Lutheran church ; its
height will be 92 feet.
When Centre Hall becomes a borough
we hope the officers will put the streets
in proper condition.
The Centre Hall machine shops are
putting in a large new boiler and tear-
ing out the old ome, it not being safe,
The bell for the new Lutheran church
in this place has arrived, and is from
the celebrated Meneely foundry. Its
weight is upwards of yoo pounds. The
lady members of the congregation have
taken up the work of seeing that it is
paid for.
Chestnuts, like apples, potatoes and
pumpkins are plenty. In some parts of
the valley chestnuts sell at 5 cents per
quart, Apples are selling at 25 to 35
cents per bushel. Potatoes also at 25
to 35 cents,
The rate at which improvements have
been going on the past summer here,
Centre Hall and the station will be one
town one year hence. Our population
is constantly on the increase.

Farmers will commence to cut their
grass within the next few days.
David Stoner purchased the Stiver
home in Centre Hall and will occupy
the same.
The Children’s Day service in the
Evangelical church, Sunday evening,
was attended by the usual large gather
ing. A splendid program was carried
to a successful end.
Thomas S. Swartz is raising some
beautiful asters this year that are excit-
ing the admiration of all who see them
growing at his home. Mr. Swartz is
quite successful as a floriculturist.
John W. Horner, of pear Tussey-
ville, and his mother, rs. George
Horner, in the former's car, drove to
York beginning of the week to visit
Rev. Charles W. Horner and family.

Mrs. Wm, Lenker, of Punxsutawney,
was called home on account of the ill-
ness of her mother, Mrs. Wm. Irvin.
Mr. and Mrs. John Herman returned
on Monday to their home in Philadel
phia, after spending ten days with
friends here.
Mr. apd Mrs, Paul Rhine, of Harris
burg, are visiting. with Mr. and Mrs.
Samuel Noll.
Miss Helen Gettig is spending a few
days at the home of Martin Keller at
Centre Hall.
M. P. Musser daughter, Mrs,
Frank Irvin, weht to Pitcairn to attend
the foperal of Mr. Musser's grandson.
Mr. and Mrs. I. F. Rimmey and
daughter Anna spent Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. M. M. Keller at Centre Hall,
