September 2, 1885
There will be a colored camp meeting
at Coburn, beginning on Friday 1th,
and continuing until Sept 21. An ef-
fort is being made to run excursion
trains on both Sundays.
The Aaronsburg baseball club was
defeated by Centre Hall, a short] dis-
stance below town, last Monday, by the
score of 52 to 3. Kurtz and Harpster
formed the battery for Centre Hall.
On Monday last, Will Conley, of this
place, started with engineer's White's
horse and buggy to drive to Philadel-
phia, which place he expects to reach by
the end of the week, and then visit oth-
er points on the way home.
An effort is being made by the ladies
of the Lutheran congregation to pur-
chase a bell for their new church.
Rev, Fischer and family returned
home last Thursday from Somerset
county, where they spent several weeks
visiting friends,
Moyer Keller very suddenly left Cen-
tre Hall for parts unknown, much to the
disappointment of some of our business
men.
Mrs. Hess, widow of John Hess, of
Haines township, died suddenly on last
Friday. We are told] she was found
dead in the garden.

Glenn S. Musser has returned to Mill-
heim after finishing teaching a term of
school at Altoona.
Byron Garis, the expert stone mason,
of Centre Hall, was in Miliheim several
days last week putting the finishing
touches on the soldier's memorial tablet
Dr. John Hardenbergh departed Tues-
day morning for St. Petersburg, where
he will spend the summer and will pos-
sibly locate there permanently. Mrs.
Hardenbergh has been there for some
