Grange picnic, Sept. 17, on top of Nit
tany mountain, near Centre Hall.
Will Keller has been appointed post-
master at Linden Hall,
Mrs. Dr. Jacobs, of this place, met
with an accident one day last week
which may impair the sight of her left
eye.
The walls of the new Lutheran church
are going up higher every day.
John Bitner, an aged citizen of the
Loop, was seriously injured last Satur-
day morning by a grain separator pass-
ing over him, caused by a run-away
team. The one wheel passed across his
back from the hip to the opposite
shoulder, causing internal injuries as
well as painful external bruises. Dr.
Jacobs was at once called and found the
old gentleman in a critical condition.
While witnessing a ball game between
Centre Hall and Boal burg, last Friday,

stream from the nose of lke Harpster,
after being struck by a foul tip, fell off
the fence in a faint,
Last Thursday, D. C. of this
place, while on his way to Philadelphia
with a load of cattle, escaped from be-
ing injured in 2 ailroad wreck. He
was aboard the engine of a freight train
which jumped the track and rolled over
an embankment fift feet high. Mr.
Keller escaped by jumping, but a num.
ber of his cattle were injured and had
to be killed.
