June 24, 188s.
Only three-fourths of a mile of track
to lay yet to complete between Belle-
fonte and Lemont, but the iron has run
out, and when a new supply comes on,
the little gap will be finished.
Jack Roush, a native of Haines town-
ship and a former landlord of the Re-
bersburg hotel, committed suicide last
week at his home, the ‘Narrows Hotel",
pear Laurelton, by taking laudapum.
July 8, 1885.—The railroad between
Lemont and Bellefonte is finished now.
Emanuel Smith has been appointed
postmaster at Potters Mulls.
Chas. Bollinger has been appointed
constable for Potter township, to fill the
vacancy caused by the death of John
Weaver.
Messrs. Noll and Stewart, of Pleasant
Gap, are now doing the main part of the
mason work for the Centre Hall Luther-
an church.
The hotel at Lemont was destroyed
by fire on the night of June 22. The
building was occupied by Isaac Arm-
strong, who lost all his furniture but
bad insurance on same. Mrs, Arm-
strong had near $600 under Ler pillow
which burned, The house belonged
to John Thompson, who has about $600
insurance in the Penns Valley company.
Married,—On ] 18, in Centre Hall,
by Rev. G. W, Ct n, A. C. Ripka, of

Died.—At Centre Hall, June 21, Mrs.
Clara Tobias, aged 77 years, 2 months,

Miss Jennie Ke: Jer, Who has spent
the past year in Cleveland, O, arrived
at the home of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. A. Kessler, last Thursday morning.
A. M. Yearick, of Woodward, recently
sold his home in that place to Mrs.
Thomas Vonada, for $2,300. The sale
includes several building lots and eight
acres of farm land,

Coburn, on last Thursday forenoon
when a horse, which he had only re-
cently bought at a public sale at Farm-
ers Mills, was kicked by another horse,
