    Smallpox in Bellefonte,
According to a report made by a
member of ‘the state board of health
there are several cases of smallpox in
Bellefonte. It appears that there are
at least five cases in three families,
Just where the first case originated
cannot be determived, as it appears
those sfllicted had been without medi-
cal attention during the firat stages
of the disease, and that in in-
stances pronounced the
disease chicken-pox. There is con-
siderable agitation among the

Christian Lowery, a well known
and highly respected resident of Ben-
ner township, died at the home of his
daughter, Mrs. J. C. Rockey, at Fil
more, Deceased was born near Rock
Forge, in Benner township, on Febru.

eighteen days old, His early life was
